Lucien Beaumont fell in love with wildlife and adventure at a young age through his travels with his family to some of the most remote and beautiful destinations Africa has to offer.
Growing up on a wine estate in the countryside of the Western Cape, South Africa, Lucien had the freedom to explore the surrounding mountains and rivers, instilling a deep appreciation for nature. After finishing his schooling, Lucien trained as a Cordon Bleu chef in Cape Town, following a passion for food and cooking which ultimately led him to becoming a safari guide. Lucien spent a year working as a chef at the prestigious Londolozi Private Game Reserve.
" During the incredible year spent working as a chef at Londolozi, I was lucky enough to be taken under the wing by some of the senior guides who saw my passion for wildlife. On my afternoons off, I would head out into the bush with the experienced guides and trackers, who began to teach me the basics of animal behaviour, birding, tree identification, tracking and 4x4 driving."
After graduating from chefs school, Lucien traveled around the world and spent the better part of two years, working and exploring Europe, South East Asia, Australia and the Pacific. Yet there was a constant yearning to return to Africa and follow his dreams of becoming a safari guide.
On his return to Africa in 2007, Lucien returned to Londolozi to complete his guide training and spent the next 8 years exploring and guiding in the Greater Kruger National Park.
Lucien now specializes in designing and guiding luxury safaris throughout Africa. His in-depth knowledge and passion for his guests, wildlife and Africa has allowed him to lead safaris to some of the most enviable destinations such as Tanzania, Kenya, Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Namibia, where his guests have witnessed some of natures greatest events.
Lucien lives on his family farm in Bot River, Western Cape with his wife Nadia and his daughter Charley Hope when he is not exploring the best of what Africa has to offer.
